This photograph of a lorikeet spreading its wings is the result of a three-day shoot – the longest I have spent on a single photo.
To capture it, I hung flashlights on the trees around the lorikeets’ gathering spot, then lay on the ground and waited. I captured hundreds of images of lorikeets from all angles and directions. Finally, after countless attempts, I captured this moment of the lorikeet opening its wings while facing the camera, just as the flash fired.
