Galahs come and go in large flocks. Sometimes, I don’t see them for weeks, and then they suddenly appear, drawn to the vibrant flowers or the fruits on the trees. When I saw this scene, it struck me as a perfect match for the Kachōga style—traditional Japanese paintings of birds and flowers—so I transformed it into one.
